DRZ400 Gear Shift Lever Fix
The factory DRZ400 gear shift lever has a sharp protruding section of metal. When the bike is dropped or crashed, this sharp edge will concentrate the impact onto a small area. This can quite often crack, or punch a hole, in the magneto case.
Aftermarket case savers do provide additional protection against cracking a magneto case, however, whether you run case savers or not, the DRZ400 gear shift lever fix is considered good practise as it removes the protruding sharp section and gives your bike the best chance of avoiding a cracked magneto case in the case of a drop or crash.
